New CS/E-related stuff
A bunch of recent items, mostly via InsideHigherEd, Computing Chris or one via John White of ACM.
- Chris Leonard, who is "Publishing Editor within Elsevier with responsibility for theoretical computer science journals" has an interesting and worthwhile new blog called Computing Chris. It's a great idea for an editor to have a blog like this -- are there any more editorial blogs out there, either at Elsevier or other publishers?
- A typically entertaining and thought-provoking post from Jane mentioning a couple of articles on women in computing.
- Thus Spake Zuska is also interesting, with a post on the 2004 Society of Women Engineers Literature Review.
- Young Female Scientist on career asperations.
- The Computational Complexity blog
- All Things Distributed by Werner Vogels.
- Computing Research Policy blog and Computing Research News online newsletter.
- Interest in CS as a Major Drops Among Incoming Freshmen by Jay Vegso.
- Electricity in the Palms of Her Hands—The Perception of Electrical Engineering by Outstanding Female High School Pupils by Hazzan, O.; Levy, D.; Tal, A. in IEEE Transactions on Education, v48i3. Eprint here.
- Quality IT Education Strikes Out by Reisman, S. in IT Professional v7i3.
